Players Edge Core Level Series
Designed for the House Ballplayer and Emerging Travel Player

We have indentified the most common mistakes of these age groups make and will work with each player to not only correct these mistakes but to begin to develop the thought process necessary to allow a hitter to “self-correct’ as they practice and play. We will strive to enhance each player's strength while improving on any weaknesses. These clinics are recommended for players in house and community leagues as well as some ‘B’ level travel players that could use work on their core fundamentals.

Mustang (AAA / Minors) Winter Clinics
For Who: Boys Playing at the Mustang, Stallion, AAA and Minors Levels
Class Size Limited 18 players!

Similar to our Pinto Clinics, there are three offerings for the Mustang Winter Clinics – Mustang Hitting, Mustang Pitching and Mustang Throwing & Fielding. Each are set up as a 5 week session. We know that the majority of the players in these clinics will have a few years of playing experience. The main goal of the clinics is to correct any ‘bad habit’s the player may have, thus shoring up areas of his game that needs help while accentuating and fine tuning the skills he is doing well at.

In the Hitting Clinic we address the core fundamentals and the proper mechanics of the swing. Again, we are trying to help them work towards being able to repeat each swing in the same manner while using the correct hitting techniques. The participants will do various tee, soft-toss and live pitch drills all at a more advanced pace from the younger clinics. In addition, we start the process of having the players think like a hitter, rather than just being a batter. Over the course of the clinic, each player will get in hundreds of swings, getting them ready for their spring season.

The Mustang Pitching Clinic looks to convert players from simply being a ‘thrower’ to becoming a pitcher. Thus the physical and mental sides to pitching will be covered. The clinic will focus on the on fundamentals that provide proper balance and stability in order to create a more productive pitcher and will feature a lot of drill work in rotating stations. Instruction on proper arm action, not only to maximize each player’s potential, but to prevent potential pitching injuries, will be stressed. Our instructors will conduct a detailed point-by-point inspection of the grip, balance point, wind-up and stretch motions, follow-through and arm action. Each player will get at least 100 pitches during the 5 week session, which will have their arms ready to go once the season starts. This is important as we play in a lot of cold weather during the spring and a pitcher whose arm is not prepped is more susceptible to injury.

We all have heard that fielding is such an important part to playing winning baseball. That is what we address with the Throwing & Fielding Clinic. We will work to clean up all the players throwing motion to enhance accuracy and arm strength. Players will go through a series of fielding drills to become a more accomplished fielder. Footwork, base coverages, mental approach and more is included in the course content. Infield and outfield fielding will be covered.

Bronco / Pony (Majors) Winter Clinics
For Who: Boys Playing at the Bronco, Thoroughbred, Palomino and Major Levels
Class Size Limited 18 players!

Our older players can get ready for the season with Bronco/Pony Winter Clinics –Hitting and Pitching. Each are set up as a 5 week session. While every clinic stresses the correct fundamentals needed to succeed on the diamond, the Bronco/Pony level clinics will also explore more advanced areas of the game.

In the Hitting Clinic we look at each player’s swing to analyze their mechanics and correct fundamentals and any flaws. Again, we are trying to help them work towards being able to correctly repeat every swing. The participants will do various tee, soft-toss and live pitch drills. In addition, we will cover bunting, hitting the other way and the mental approach to hitting at this age level. Over the course of the clinic, each player will get in hundreds of swings, getting them ready for their spring season.

The Pitching Clinic will cover all aspects of pitching at the older levels of play, again going into both the physical and mental sides to pitching. Any weaknesses in the player’s delivery fundamentals will be addressed. Players will work to add or enhance secondary pitches, such as the change-up and multiple seam fastball grips. Breaking balls will be discussed but not necessarily taught as not every player will be ready for it.
