We strongly believe that the basic fundamentals can be taught to our younger ballplayers. While they might not be able to repeat the correct techniques consistently, the foundation is laid for the player to build his skill set on. Both the Rookie League and Baseball FUNdamentals are Players Edge traditions and sell out each year. Each clinic is run with both teaching and fun in mind. It's never too early to learn the right way to play!


T-Ball Winter Clinics
For Who: Boys and Girls Playing at the T-Ball Level

We have been working with the T-Ball players for many years and have developed a series of drills and instruction sets that help them start to understand the basic fundamentals of the game. Parents of past participants have told us it made an amazing difference in their child’s playing ability and confidence level.

In the T-Ball Winter Clinics, we set out to lay a foundation of both the fundamentals and the fun of playing baseball. The boys and girls are introduced to the basics of the game, with a lot of attention on the throwing motion, proper two-handed catches, fielding, how to run the bases, hitting and basic rules. Just as important, we work hard to have the kids love the game and think baseball is the coolest thing going! So, we include fun games and activities and lots of baseball cards to keep them happy!

Pinto (A /AA) Winter Clinics
For Who: Boys Playing at the Pinto, Farm, A and AA Levels
Class Size Limited 18 players!

There are two offerings for the Pinto Winter Clinics – Pinto Hitting and Pinto Throwing & Fielding. Each are set up as a 5 week session. The main goal of the clinics is to help our young players build a solid foundation of fundamental skills in each discipline.

In the Hitting Clinic we work on stance and proper set up at the plate and the proper mechanics of the swing. Players will go through drill sets that will help them work towards being able to repeat these key fundamentals with each swing. Just like we do with our older players, the participants will do various tee, soft-toss and live pitch drills. We will also focus on baserunning skills. This clinic is just the right thing for players who are playing in coach pitch and/or player pitch leagues.

The Throwing & Fielding Clinic works on some of the most important concepts of the game. From ‘ready position’ to the correct fundamentals of fielding a ground ball, this clinic will help any player become more focused and a better fielder. Drills to help the players catch the ball will also be included. Throwing the baseball is a key part of this clinic. Most players at this age have some flaws in their throwing motion. We will run a series of drills that will enable them to throw the ball more accurately and with more strength. Since some leagues also begin player pitching, the throwing drills will help them on the mound and we will add the first level of pitching drills as well.

Given the age of these players, time will be spent both reviewing past material and introducing new skills. We believe in this methodology because young players can rarely be taught something once and be expected to master that skill. The clinics are taught by experienced PEBSA instructors, who are very enthusiastic about teaching the game of baseball to young players.
